Patterson is a community located in Calgary’s southwest perched above the Douglas Fir Escarpment, the area boasts some of the best views in Calgary. The area was annexed by the City of Calgary in 1956 and the community was established in 1983. Preliminarily the area was named Broadcast Hill but later changed to Patterson after the name of the family who owned the majority of the lands, one of Calgary’s original brick homes can still be found in the area today.
